The “Orange Bag” Program
The Hefty® EnergyBag® program is now: Hefty ReNew™ or Better known as the “orange bag” program.
The “orange bag” program provides residents and businesses a simple, convenient way to convert hard-to-recycle plastics into a variety of valued resources.
Here are a few simple steps for anyone looking for an easy way to collect and recover hard-to-recycle plastics like bubble wrap, grocery bags, straws, plastic ziplock bags, foam packaging, and more:
Simply purchase the Hefty ReNew™ brand or any brand of orange bags in the trash bag aisle at your local store. The bag needs to be “see-thru”.
Fill the orange bag with plastics that are hard to recycle. If you have any questions about what you can include in the bags, please click the button below for a printable list of acceptable items.
Once filled, place the orange bags directly inside the recycling bin at the curb or approved drop-off location.
The filled bags will be picked up with your normal recycling and then converted into useful resources like plastic lumber and durable building materials.
Not an Omaha resident? No problem! Visit the Hefty ReNew website to find the drop-off location that is closest to you.
