Results from Second Annual Recycling In Action Tours - 2026

On Wednesday, September 23rd, the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) released results from its second annual Recycling in Action Month, and the numbers tell an encouraging story. Read the attached Press Announcement from the APR.

In summary, more than 2,500 people toured 41 recycling facilities across North America in May, getting a firsthand look at how recyclables are sorted, processed and transformed into new products. After their tours, 78% said they believed recycling works better than they previously thought, and 89% said they were very likely to share what they learned with others.

We were proud that First Star Recycling in Omaha was one of the participating facilities, opening its doors to help people see recycling in action right here in Nebraska.
